April 22nd marked the launch of the 2009 National Clean Air Green Tour, a mobile marketing initiative that will visit more than 60 cities across the United States to educate consumers on the latest advances in sustainability. The tour will give visitors hands-on experience with well-known brands that support environmental awareness including Scott Naturals, Bayer Advanced, Codemasters, Michelin, Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce, and Woman's Day.
The third annual tour features a state-of-the-art 42 foot biodiesel motor coach equipped with solar power backup power and will travel through 44 states in four months, covering more than 30,000 miles. The tour will stop at well-known retailers, as well as several festivals such as Taste of Pennsylvania Wine and Music Festival providing visitors with information on ways to maintain a green lifestyle.
The tour will feature a giveaway for great prizes such as a $ 1000 gift card to Lowe's and is sponsored by Scott Naturals and Bayer Advanced. Visitors can register for the giveaway via interactive kiosks at tour stops or online at http://www.cleanairgreentour.com, winner will be announced at tour's conclusion in August.
At the tour, visitors will be able to take the Scott Naturals challenge and receive free samples along with coupons. At select locations in April and May we will be handing out trees and giving tree care tips from Bayer Advanced. All displays are powered with solar energy provided by the Clean Air Green Tour motor coach.
In addition to distributing information and materials at all stops, the tour is also sponsoring tree planting days where local volunteers will gather to improve their community by planting trees at city, state, and federal land. In Lexington, Kentucky we planted thousands of trees in a old strip mine with the assistance of Kentucky Division of Forestry. In addition, the tour will participate in the Adopt-a-Highway program by assisting in cleaning up highways and major interstates along the tour route.
"Consumers are embracing green products and taking steps to minimize their impact on the earth," said Jim Paar founder of the Clean Air Green Tour. The National Clean Air Green Tour is taking every effort to educate consumers on ways to enhance that commitment to green living."
While consumers are expressing and interest in using 'green' household products, many of them currently believe they will have to sacrifice quality and pay more for these products. The Scott Naturals products address this concern by offering solutions that deliver value along with environmental benefits. "Consumers shouldn't have to sacrifice quality or pay more to feel good about helping the environment," said Erik Seidel, Scott Brand director.
